My Accessories Update!!!

Hi lovely people! :]

I wanted to share my recent accessories find! I went shopping with my friend Van at Aldo. We originally went in there because she wanted to pick up a new pair of shoes. Knowing me, I got distracted by shiny and cute and couldn't resist the gold leaf ring and the pretty mint green clutch. I also really liked the bronze color detail inside the clutch and the reptile skin texture on the front. If the sweet lady working there had not brought out this one, I probably would have bought the plain looking mint green wallet. The plain one was still nice in terms of the minty color and tons of storage space, but the one I bought not only had the same mint green hue, it was also classy and cute with more style and a good amount of storage space. Aldo had the clutch in other pretty colors as well, but the minty clutch was my fav! Well, that is all for this post. I hope to inspire others through my diverse tastes and styles in accessories/fashion. Keep a look out because I have tons more exciting things to share in the next couple of days such as more fashion/beauty posts and art/drawing related posts.

Review on ChapStick's Lip Shield 365

Hi girls and boys! Today I am reviewing ChapStick's Lip Shield 365 with SPF 50+! I love the lemony scent and how my lips feel moisturized throughout the day. It glides on easily and coats my lips pretty well. I feel that it actually works since it doesn't dry up on my lips like some lip care products do where I have to keep reapplying constantly. I also like that it has a new advanced formula for superior moisturization and maximum protection throughout all seasons, but I will have to test it out longer to see if that's true. ;)

Roxy Knitted Flats

I wanted to quickly share my Memorial Day shopping find at DSW. I spotted these cute, cream, knitted Roxy flats. They are super comfy and easy to walk in. It's also great timing since I needed new flats. :)

Cooking with Michi: Fajitas!!! :)

I wanted to share a quick post of the Fajitas I made for dinner last night. I made chicken fajitas with red yellow and green bell peppers and added avocado and sour cream as toppings. I used the Old El Paso Fajita Seasoning mix, which according to the packet contains a delicious blend of Mexican spices creating a smokey barbeque flavour. I actually cooked twice using two packets of seasoning because I wasn't sure if there would be too much food. It was scrumptious and a big hit because there were barely any left overs. :)

Review on Aveeno Body Wash

I'm almost done with my Spring VoxBox reviews! This is my fifth review, on Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing body wash. According to Aveeno.com, it helps replenish skin's natural moisture for visibly healthier skin, it is dermatologist recommended and its breakthrough formula combines Natural Colloidal Oatmeal - long known to soothe skin - with a unique blend of natural oils and emollients, to help replenish skin's natural moisture. I've used Aveeno products before and I have always been satisfied. This isn't my first time using the body wash and I have to say that the results are amazing. I love the soothing scent and how creamy it feels when I apply it on my body! After I use it, my skin always feels soft, smooth and moisturized, plus relieved of any itching because of the oatmeal. It's also great for sensitive skin because my cousin has sensitive skin and it works wonders for him. I know family and friends who love the Aveeno brand because the products actually work for them. I would definitely recommend and rate 5 out of 5 stars because it works 100%.

Review on Bath and Body Works "Paris Amour"

Today's review is on the Bath and Body Works Signature Collection fine fragrance mist "Paris Amour". Paris Amour has a pretty scent, if sprayed lightly. According to the site Bath and Body Works, it's a dreamy blend of French tulips, apple blossoms and sparkling pink champagne, inspired by a romantic stroll through the streets of Paris. In my opinion, I think the scent is too strong. I spray it lightly or else I get a headache and everyone else complains of the over-powering scent. It's more of a strong perfume than a lightly scented mist. I would never purchase Paris Amour. Instead, I would have preferred Cherry Blossom or Sweet Pea. I also want to add that the packaging for the bottle reflects the scent well. So romantic and cute! ;)

Coffee & Cocoa Facial Mask

My cousin Tia discovered this nice coffee & cocoa facial mask recipe on an article by Julyne Derrick, Coffee & Cocoa Facial Mask for All Skin Types on About.com Tia made the facial mask for me with some tweaks to the mix. There are other alternatives and substitutes in the ingredients such as either adding egg, milk, yogurt, almond milk or coconut milk. She mixed equal parts of Starbucks coffee, Hershey's hot cocoa mix, milk, honey and 5 drops of lemon juice. The liquids have to be added slowly to the mix or else it could turn out watery. If it's watery, the mixture will slide off when applied to the face compared to a thicker consistency. I love how yummy the facial mask smells. It's great when you wash it off because while you scrub your skin the coffee grinds act as an exfoliant, removing all the dead skin cells. After using the coffee and cocoa facial mask, my skin felt velvety smooth like a baby's bottom! :) I felt refreshed and ready to start my day!

Review on Sheer Cover Duo Concealer

Happy Friday Everyone! :D

Today I am reviewing the Sheer Cover Duo Concealer in shade Light/Medium that I received in my Spring Beauty VoxBox. I've actually used this concealer before as well as other Sheer Cover products. I took a before and after photo to show the difference. I used the i.d. Bare Escentuals max coverage concealer brush to apply the concealer on my face because I felt that when I used my finger it would smear off and melt from my body heat. I love how it's natural and light and doesn't feel dry or cakey. The results made my face look bright, fresh and flawless. My dark circles, acne scars and blemishes were covered. The best part is that the concealer is good for your skin because the ingredients are all natural. This product is definitely a keeper! ;)

Review on Blueberry SOYJOY

Hey Everyone!

This is my first time hearing and tasting about this scrumptious product SOYJOY. It's a baked whole soy & fruit bar with all natural ingredients, gluten free and real berries. I found out on SOYJOY that they have other flavors such as Apple Walnut, Banana, Berry, Blueberry, Mango Coconut, Pineapple and Strawberry. The blueberry flavor came in my VoxBox. I was surprised that this healthy snack actually tasted delicious. It's great as a quick snack on the go and fits perfectly in my purse. I love that it's packed with more fruits and more moisture so it's not too dry. I'm trying to slowly switch to eating healthier foods and it's hard when there are some healthy foods and snacks that don't taste good. I think this is perfect timing that I received SOYJOY in my VoxBox because now I've discovered a new healthy alternative snack that I can actually enjoy eating! :D

Review on Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Hi guys!

Today I am reviewing the "Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips." I got the pretty zebra stripes print. ;) Like the box said, it's easy to use. You just peel, apply and shape with a nail file. The reasons why I liked the nail polish strips were that they came in cute, fun and stylish prints/patterns and colors. Many times it can be time consuming to create those designs on your nails and costly if you go to a nail salon. Using the strips makes it easier and faster with less of a mess. Sometimes it's nice to be able to get a quick stylish look without it being costly and dealing with a lot of mess. The downside is that they peel fast. I noticed when I was washing my hair that some parts of the strips would get caught on my hair strands and peel pieces off. Also, when I was changing I had to be careful of the fabric getting caught on the corner of the strips. I haven't tried this yet, but I thought of maybe painting a top coat on the strips to seal it, but then that would defeat the whole purpose of it being strips and not dealing with the actual nail polish painting itself. In the end, I think the product is great for the price you pay. Plus, it's fun and easy to use, with so many options to choose from.

Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox May 2012

Hey Everyone!

I am excited to announce that I was chosen to review Influenster's Spring Beauty VoxBox for this month of May! This year is my first time using Influenster as well as reviewing my first VoxBox. I've never heard of Influenster before. I actually discovered Influenster while scrolling through a random person's blog. Well, I'm glad I stumbled upon that blogger's page or else who knows when I would have heard about them.

Before I move on, here's a quick summary. Basically how Influenster works is you sign up as a member at Influenster for free and fill out various short surveys to collect badges that define you and your interests. Members qualify for a VoxBox based on badges, demographics and internal influence scores. You don't have to pay at all. Everything in the VoxBox is free. The only thing required is to test the products and give feedback on testing experiences. If you enjoy any of the brands, simply spread the word and rate positively. It's simple as that! ^^

I was way too happy when I found out that I was going to receive a VoxBox. I love trying out new products all the time and letting people know about it, especially if it works for me and I like it. I always give my 100% honest opinion, whether I like a product or not. I actually received the VoxBox on Thursday, May 17. I didn't blog about it right away because I wanted to check out the products and try some of them out for a period of time to see the quality and effectiveness. I won't review all the products right away since I am still testing. Over the next couple of days, I will give feedback on a few products at a time. Today I will post all of the products that came inside the Spring Beauty VoxBox. By the way, one of the photos shows my dog Misty sitting next to me. She was actually more interested in the packing peanuts and tried to eat them. -____-;

Disclaimer: I have received each product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

Make Up Forever "The Aqua Collection"

Hey guys!

Since it's spring time, I've been in the mood for bright colors, neons and pastels as well as various patterns. Today I went to the Kenwood Towne Centre mall with my cousin. I was in a good shopping mood and saw so many cute outfits and wardrobe styling ideas. I will post my wardrobe styling later and focus on makeup today. One of the stores I shopped at was the makeup store Sephora. I ended up purchasing Make Up Forever's "Aqua Eyes Shades" from "The Aqua Collection" in 12L, blue with green highlights. I'm thinking of re-visting Sephora again and getting the fuchsia pink or electric blue color because I love how it stands out so much and accentuates my eyes. The photo I took has the 12L, 13L fuchsia and 13 warm beige from Makeup Forever and also my black eyeliner from Tarte. The best part of the new aqua collection is that it's waterproof!!! :D

Hey guys!

Today I am wearing an adorable Minnie Mouse tee that I got at Kohl's a couple days ago. I was going to buy shorts that matched the red/orange color on the tee, but it was too small for me. I really wanted it too. :( Instead, I wore pastel pink shorts.

Thursday Outfit of the Day

Hi Everyone!

I went to Baker Chiropractic today. Everything went well. My back feels much better after being cracked. Today I paired a red and yellow Superman tank with mustard yellow colored shorts. I wanted to tie in the mustard yellow color of the shorts with the yellow from the "S" logo. I also wore a white robot ring to add playfulness. I got this cute white robot ring from the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky. Also got a neon green robot and purple nerd robot ring for my cousins. One more thing that I would like to randomly share is this Hello Kitty wallet that my friend Hansini got for me during Christmas. I love it and I use it every time I go out! :)

Thursday Outfit of the Day

  1. Red Superman tank - Forever 21
  2. Mustard Yellow Shorts - Stone Love Blue Jeans

Cooking & Baking with Michi Part 1

Hey guys!

Sorry for not posting on Mon and Tues. I've been thinking and I've decided that I am going to post fashion outfits whenever I can and mix it up a bit with various other topics. Today I will be posting past food and dessert dishes that I've made and will be updating with new ones in the future. My recent baked item was Strawberry Macaroons. It was my first time making macaroons. They turned out too sweet and the filling was a bit watery. Also, the second batch of macaroons stuck to the baking pan. Since I know what to improve on now, I am hoping the next batch will be better. The past desserts I've made were Ghirardelli brownies, Pineapple upside down cake and chocolate covered strawberries. I've made more, but I don't have any photos at the moment. The food dishes that I have made were stuffed bell peppers, Japanese curry rice, bacon wrapped asparagus, an obento inspired by the the anime character Puchiko from Di Gi Charat and Watermelon Tart.

Here's the old original post of the Puchiko obento: Puchiko Obento By Sheri W

Enjoy! <3 Michi

Sunday Outfit of the Day

Hi Guys! ;)

Today was an amazing and fun-filled day. Here's a brief summary of the craziness that went down. I went with my friend Van and my brother Derrick to the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky. There were so many interesting creatures! I loved the jellyfish, penguins, miniature blowfish, turtles and the otters. I wanted to pet the penguins and otters because they were adorable! I also discovered a new place to eat. It's called Tom + Chee. They make really delicious unique grilled cheese sandwiches. I had a combo with creamy tomato soup + Pesto Grilled Cheese which contained turkey, swiss cheese and pesto on sourdough bread, plus I added bacon, lettuce and tomato. Van had the BLT grilled cheese combo and Derrick ate at a sushi restaurant. After we ate, Van grabbed a Starbucks frapp, we both got cotton candy and then headed to the Regal Movie theater to watch The Avengers. It was an incredible movie. I would definitely watch it again!

The look I wore today was another chic spring style with a cute messy bun and a thin grey headband.

Sunday Outfit of the Day

  1. Short White Cardigan - Esprit
  2. Floral Print Racerback Spaghetti Strap - Decree
  3. Marble Jean Shorts (Type: (Ashley Lowrise) - L.e.i
